I Believe …
Amidst the approach of a new year, the staff at the USCCD are thinking about what we truly believe in. What can we learn from the past year, and what is meaningful enough to carry forward into 2012? It has been a year of opportunities to grow our mission and the movement through the launch of the ten-year U.S. Initiative for Global Citizen Diplomacy, as well as a year of funding and sustainability challenges for the future.
We all know that believing in an ideal, setting a goal, and taking one step at a time toward that end is the way to affect change. Belief is about clearly envisioning a result even when you can’t yet see the path that will take you there. It is about having faith that your actions are making a difference and that others will step up to support your vision. For us, it is a clear understanding that the impact one person has to make a positive difference cannot be denied, especially in an age of new technology and ways to connect.
